Currency Converter

Indicative static rates — for reference only, not live market data.

What this tool does

The Currency Converter turns an amount in one currency into its equivalent in another using current market exchange rates. Enter an amount, pick the "from" and "to" currencies, and it shows the converted value along with the rate used and the time it was last updated. It covers major pairs like USD/PKR, EUR/USD and GBP/USD as well as dozens of other world currencies.

It is useful for travellers estimating trip costs, freelancers checking what an invoice is worth in rupees, businesses pricing imports, and traders doing quick cross-rate maths. The rate shown is the mid-market rate — the midpoint between buy and sell prices. Banks, exchange shops, and card providers add their own margin on top, so the amount you actually receive will usually be a little less.

How to use it

  1. Enter the amount you want to convert.
  2. Select the currency you are converting from.
  3. Select the currency you are converting to.
  4. The tool applies the latest available rate and shows the result instantly.
  5. Check the "last updated" timestamp — during volatile sessions, refresh for a fresh rate.
  6. For actual transactions, compare with your bank or exchanger's rate, which includes their spread.

Frequently asked questions

What is the mid-market rate?

The mid-market rate is the midpoint between the buy and sell prices on the open market — the "true" exchange rate before any provider adds a margin. It is the fairest reference point, but it is not the rate any consumer actually gets.

Why does my bank give me a worse rate than the converter shows?

Banks and money changers buy currency cheaper and sell it dearer than the mid-market rate; the difference (the spread) is how they earn. The gap is small for major currencies and wider for exotic ones.

How often do the rates update?

Market rates move continuously while markets are open. This tool refreshes regularly and labels every figure with its source and update time. On weekends, when spot markets are closed, the last available rate is shown.
