Intercontinental Exchange owns the New York Stock Exchange. On October 29 it joined forces with Trade.xyz on a new United States venue for perpetual futures, CoinDesk reported, citing Bloomberg. The venue will carry the ICE[XYZ] name and run on Hyperliquid rails.

A perpetual future never expires. Traders hold positions without rolling them forward, while funding payments keep contract prices near the underlying asset's price. Crypto traders already use these contracts at scale. Most of that trading happens offshore, out of reach for United States investors. ICE and Trade.xyz want to change that, with fresh exchange and clearing systems, customer checks and anti-money-laundering controls, all subject to a green light from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission.

Trade.xyz builds more markets on Hyperliquid than anyone else. Trading on its Hyperliquid markets has passed $650 billion since launch, a little over twelve months ago. Those markets stay open alongside the planned United States venue.

ICE is also taking a stake in Trade.xyz. The price stays private. Product, access and launch details will follow later. No launch date exists yet.

HYPE moved fast on the news. CoinPedia reported a gain of more than 8% on October 29, taking the token above $86. The wider crypto tape did not join in. MarketRadar's snapshot at 16:39 PKT showed Bitcoin at $80,065, down 1.57% in 24 hours, and Ether at $2,322, down 1.75%. That split ties the HYPE move to the ICE announcement, not to a market-wide bounce.

Why it matters

Perpetual futures grew up offshore. Bringing them onto a CFTC-approved venue in the United States puts stocks, indices, commodities, currencies and crypto on one regulated marketplace, with clearing run by new infrastructure instead of an offshore order book. For traders the change is practical: access through brokers they already use, under rules they can read.

This is also the second regulated Hyperliquid route to surface in one week. Kraken parent Payward set out its own United States perpetuals plan on October 27, with Bitnomial running and settling the markets and NinjaTrader Clearing holding customer accounts. Both routes still need approval. Whichever clears first will set the template others must follow.

What to watch

  • The CFTC's response to the ICE[XYZ] plan, and whether energy contracts follow the digital-asset contracts permitted in May 2026
  • Product, access and launch details from Trade.xyz as the approval process moves forward
  • Whether HYPE stays above $86 after the first-day reaction, or hands back the announcement gain
  • Volume on Trade.xyz's existing Hyperliquid markets, already past $650 billion, as a gauge of demand for the United States venue
  • Rival filings, including the Payward route through Bitnomial and NinjaTrader Clearing

Key points

  • ICE and Trade.xyz plan ICE[XYZ], a new United States venue for perpetual futures on Hyperliquid rails, pending CFTC approval, per CoinDesk citing Bloomberg
  • Contracts would cover stocks, indices, commodities, currencies and crypto, sold through brokers that sign up
  • Trade.xyz's Hyperliquid markets passed $650 billion in trading since launch, a little over twelve months ago, and stay open alongside the new venue
  • ICE is taking a stake in Trade.xyz on undisclosed terms; no launch date and no access list exist yet
  • HYPE gained more than 8% on October 29 and traded above $86, per CoinPedia, while Bitcoin sat at $80,065 and Ether at $2,322 in MarketRadar's 16:39 PKT snapshot
  • Payward outlined a separate United States route on October 27, via Bitnomial and NinjaTrader Clearing, also pending approval

MarketRadar take

This reads as a structural step for Hyperliquid, not a one-day price story. An exchange group running the New York Stock Exchange does not build fresh clearing systems for a passing trade. And $650 billion of trading already done on Trade.xyz's markets gives regulators a live record to judge. Approval timing and real demand after launch are still open, and both will take months to settle. Until then, HYPE's jump is a sentiment marker, not a verdict.
